Top 5 Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in UAE Q4 2021

In the fourth quarter of 2021, carpooling and ridesharing apps in the United Arab Emirates demonstrated varying trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at the performance of the top five apps in this category.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, beginning at approximately 12K at the start of October and peaking at around 15K in the last week of December. During the same period, active users showed some fluctuations, starting at about 140K and ending the quarter around 135K.

Uber - Request a ride saw a consistent increase in downloads, beginning from roughly 6.6K in late September and reaching close to 7.8K by the end of December. Active users for Uber also followed an upward trend, starting at 221K and reaching nearly 227K by the end of the quarter.

Careem BIKE: Bike Sharing App showed notable growth in weekly downloads, with numbers rising from just over 1K in late September to nearly 3K by the end of December. The app’s active users also increased from about 1K to around 2K during the same period.

inDrive. Save on city rides maintained a steady download rate, starting at approximately 2.2K in late September and ending the quarter with roughly 2.4K downloads per week. Active users for inDrive exhibited a gradual increase from around 12K to about 15.5K by the end of December.

Lastly, Bolt: Request a Ride displayed a consistent download trend, beginning at about 1.5K and peaking at roughly 2.2K in late November. Active users for Bolt increased from approximately 5.1K to about 6K over the quarter.
